I have a friend who was recently recommended buy a strong paper shredder for their own home office. They were looking for something that wouldn’t simply shred paper, but also back-up CD’s and DVD’s, and would cross-cut it all as well, to protect their business records being misused.
What they ended up with was the Fellowes SB 85C paper shredder.
I had a look at it in action, and it’s a fast and relatively quiet machine. My only real concern is that when shredding CD’s, you sometimes get small pieces ejecting out the feed, which may be a problem in a home office with very young children around. Well, not that you should let children anywhere near a paper shredder anyway.

Ha ha ha! I had to blog this story: Bums on photocopiers boost Canon sales
CANON SAID support call outs increase by 25 per cent over the Christmas period because daft employees do dumb things like mooning on the office photocopier.
Canon said rather coyly that “photocopying body parts” is a popular office pastime and as well as its technicians having to repair broken glass, they also find all sorts of interesting objects inside the machines.
Those include condoms, stockings, kitchen knives and a snake. What type of snake, Canon did not reveal. Other items found include a sleeping cat, a vibrator, dominoes, a swarm of bees and a cheque for £6,000.
David Smith, Canon UK marketing director said: “People obviously let their hair down at Christmas.”

Hi there, and welcome to Office Supplier ORG UK. I’m just setting up this blog to find out more about what office equipment I should use for my home office, as described in the About page.
Hopefully someone somewhere will find this blog useful, as I play with product recommendations, try a few out myself, and generally report on news of interest about office products/equipment/supplies.
